An alien tentacle holds an old-style microphone, an allusion to the original broadcast by Orson Welles which caused massive panic in the United States and was taken as a literal alien invasion.

H. G. Wells was born in England in 1866. He is best known for his work in the science fiction genre and is considered one of its founding fathers, along with Jules Verne and Hugo Gernsback. His most notable science fiction works include "The War of the Worlds", "The Time Machine", "The Invisible Man" and "The Island of Doctor Moreau".
